Helping Consumers Understand the Energy Transition
Across the world, everyday consumers play a growing role in how energy systems operate - from how much electricity is used and when, to how homes, vehicles and businesses interact with the grid. Yet much of the information about energy, smart technology and flexibility remains technical, fragmented, or commercially driven.
Integrate to Zero supports the development of independent, accessible consumer guidance websites that help people understand how the energy system works in practice - from solar power and batteries to grids, smart tech and flexibility - without jargon or sales bias. These platforms empower consumers to make informed day-to-day decisions, while supporting a fair and effective transition to renewable energy systems.
Why This Matters
Bringing consumers along on the energy transition is essential for both system resilience and social justice. How and when people use energy has a direct impact on grid stability, renewable integration and flexibility potential. At the same time, a just transition requires that clear, trustworthy information is available to everyone - ensuring no communities are left behind as energy systems become more complex and digital.
Integrate to Zero, together with Consumers International have supported the establishment of country-specific consumer guidance platforms - shaping their strategic direction, supporting content development, and helping ensure each site reflects local contexts while maintaining a consistent, independent and consumer-first approach. The result is a growing portfolio of public-interest resources designed to inform, empower and build confidence in the energy transition.
